Trash Pickup was sponsored through the Ecology Club on September 17 at Nicolet Beach. Great job everybody!

In a world where students with outstanding academic achievements or success in athletics are consistently recognized through awards such as honor roll or conference/team awards, we often hear people say, “What about the kind students?” At Gibraltar, we certainly value kindness and believe that it is one of our core values as a secondary school. As such, our HS Peer Leaders and PBIS committee nominate a "Kind Student of the Month" who has access to a pristine parking spot in our lot for one month. Juniors and seniors are considered. Our September Kind Student of the Month is Samara Jauregui!

Putting names to faces...
Hi! I'm Cindy Phillips, the Gibraltar Elementary School Administrative Assistant. I started working as a substitute teacher at Gibraltar in 2001 and have been in my current position since 2014. I am married and have two children, both Gibraltar graduates and a 3-year-old grandson😊.
Prior to moving to Door County in 1993, I managed hotels in the Chicago area. I feel extremely fortunate to live in Door County and be a part of the awesome Gibraltar community!
Gibraltar is so fortunate to have Mrs. Phillips at the helm of our Elementary Office!

Have you ever called or stopped into the secondary office? You likely spoke with Mrs. Kathy McConkey!
She is our Secondary Administrative Assistant and reports doing a little bit of everything including, but definitely not limited to: office work, helping students, attendance, and facilitating schedules/events so the Secondary runs smoothly.
Mrs. McConkey was hired in 1995 she subbed for many years, and she has been in this position for 9 years.
Fun Facts: She loves to Fly Fish. And she won a National Rolling Pin Throwing Contest in Vermont when she was 13... impressive!
Mrs. McConkey says her position is so enjoyable because: "The relationships I have built with students and staff are what mean the most to me."
Gibraltar is so lucky to have her at the helm of the Secondary office! #gibraltar23 #gibraltarsecondary

Putting Names to Faces:
Hello, I'm Kim. I'm an LPN here in the district 2 days a week, typically (You'll see the other nurse in a later post)! This is my 4th school year getting to travel to Gibraltar. I usually spend the rest of my week at the Sturgeon Bay Schools, but also get to travel to Sevastopol and Southern Door occasionally as well. I have been an LPN for 19 years, some of the other areas of nursing I have been in: long term care (geriatrics), rheumatology, and right before making the jump to school nursing, I was in the orthopedics department at DCMC. My favorite thing about school nursing is all the bonds we get to create with students. And let me tell you, there is no one more honest than a child, so if they say "Thank you" they mean it!

A special thank you to FOG and all of the businesses and parents who donated to our Staff lunch last week! #gibraltar23 @friendsofgibraltarschools
