PUPIL SERVICES
The Gibraltar Area School District Pupil Services Team is committed to engaging minds, empowering learning, and achieving excellence by maximizing each student’s educational experience. We provide inclusive, responsive supports that foster the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for students to become confident learners, capable problem-solvers, and contributing members of their school and community. Through this work, we prepare students to thrive in an ever-changing, diverse world and to pursue their goals with purpose and resilience.
SPECIAL EDUCATION
The Gibraltar Area School District serves students ages 3–21 who qualify for special education services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Supports and services are delivered across a full range of school settings and are designed to meet students where they are academically, socially, and emotionally. Specialy designed instruction occurs within general education and other learning environments, as appropriate. Decisions regarding services, supports, and instructional settings are determined collaboratively through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, guided by each student’s unique strengths, needs, and goals, and developed in partnership with families and educators.
Gibraltar is committed to offering responsive, individualized programming that prioritizes access, belonging, and meaningful participation in school communities. Our goal is to create inclusive learning experiences that build independence, confidence, and self-advocacy skills, preparing students for successful transitions beyond school. Families are encouraged to contact the Pupil Services team with questions or to learn more about available supports.
Additional information and resources related to special education—including eligibility, referral processes, procedural safeguards, and family rights—are available through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
