Well, hello. I’m glad that you came to explore more about Gibraltar and me, as a teacher in the district. I am very grateful to be at Gibraltar and teaching so many of my neighbors' children. Thank you for your confidence.
The 2019-2020 school year will be my fifth year as a full time teacher at Gibraltar. I spent one year prior to these years as a substitute teacher with the district. Although I have been at Gibraltar for five years, my experience as a teacher stretches well beyond my time at Gibraltar. I would say that I have always been a teacher. I have a voracious appetite for learning new things, and I love to share what I learn with others. Education empowers and enriches.
In addition to my traditional teaching position, I have taught all ages, including preschool and adults returning for highschool equivalency diplomas. I have taught nutrition to children at community sites through the University Extension System. I have also taught gifted and talented students in a program with Carthage College in Kenosha. Before moving to Door County in 2009, I was a Title I Reading and Math instructor for the Racine Unified School District. My formal education and experience have given me wonderful perspective on the breadth of education.

I am the proud mom of three boys. Two of my sons have graduated from Gibraltar and attend college. My oldest, Ian, is at U.W. Madison. My middle son, Alec, will be studying abroad in Japan this year. My youngest, Hayden, is a senior at Gibraltar. They fly from the nest so quickly. My husband, Rich, runs the Coachlite Inn in Sister Bay and The Ridges Inn and Suites in Baileys Harbor.
